Tomas Heikkala was an infantryman in Viet Nam who watched from a lookout post as Company “C” from his battalion fearfully started shooting wildly, accidentally killing two American soldiers and wounding several others. He had many experiences there that convinced him of the fultility of war and the use of lies that continue to perpetuate its use.

 

A founding member of PeaceRoots Alliance, Tomas reaches out to youth facing questions of war and violence. He has been instrumental in bringing our conscientious objector registration and information distribution programs. Tomas is a public speaker at anti-war rallies and to youth groups about the lessons of violence and the importance of conscientious objector documentation.
